Alumni of Mithibai College – MAA has always been a source of support and inspiration for the students and the staff of this college. With a long list of famous personalities in the field of films, drama, literature, beauty pagents, music, dance, journalism, sports and even entrepreneurship, who have become an alumni of this college have made the institution proud for years.The alumni always come back to the institution to contribute in various ways. They often guide the current students and share their experiences in the academics (by orienting and teaching them or donating their books and other materials), cultural and sports events (by training them for their performances), or even employment ( by training them for their recruitment in corporate world or making them aware about the career options in their own field).
GUEST LECTURE
On 3rd July 2024, Mr. Akash Tiwari conducted an engaging guest lecture titled “Startups and More” for SYBMS A & B students as part of their Entrepreneurship Management course. The session focused on entry-level startups and the essential components involved in founding a business. With the objective of introducing students to the real-world startup ecosystem, Mr. Tiwari emphasized the value of co-founders with complementary skills and shared vision. The session was attended by approximately 100 students and received high ratings across parameters such as content quality, subject knowledge, relevance, and interaction. Students expressed interest in more such lectures to strengthen their industry readiness and holistic development.
2nd ALUMNI REUNION
The 2nd Alumni Reunion of Mithibai College was held on 9th March 2025 at Babubhai Jagjivandas Hall, Vile Parle (West), drawing around 160 enthusiastic alumni from the batches of 1971 to 2024. Three generations of alumni came together to reconnect and relive cherished memories. Each guest was welcomed with a badge that read “Back to the place where we made dreams and broke rules,” perfectly capturing the nostalgic spirit of the evening. The event began with a warm welcome by MAA coordinator Dr. Khevana Desai, followed by an inspiring address from Principal Prof. Krutika Desai. The evening was kept lively by host Ms. Soumya Prabhu, who led engaging games that brought out laughter and camaraderie among attendees. Alumni shared heartfelt stories from their college days, while faculty members, including Mr. Yogesh Kamat—himself an alumnus—joined in reminiscing. A selfie stand with fun props added a playful element, allowing alumni to click photos with their peers and former teachers. The highlight of the evening was a soulful live music performance by Navin Shivram Pushkarana, Sahil Pushkarana, and their troupe, featuring old Hindi classics, new Bollywood hits, and lively Gujarati songs that had everyone on their feet for a spirited Garba session. The evening concluded with a delicious dinner, giving attendees more time to catch up and celebrate their bond with Mithibai. Many left with a promise to return for future reunions, ensuring that the legacy of the college continues to thrive through its alumni.
MANAGING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS
After a long gap of seven years from the term of the office-bearers ended, fresh Elections for electing the managing committee members were conducted on 10th December 2021. Dr. Mahesh Bhagwat was the Presiding officer and it was coordinated by Dr. Khevana Desai, Convener of Alumni Association. Following office bearers were elected unopposed.
