Objectives
- To develop qualities like character, courage comradership, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and sportsmanship an ideal of selfless service among the youth to make them perfect citizen
- To create a human resource a well organised, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life including armed forces and be always available for service of the nation in emergency.
- To provide the platform, an environment and guidance to the Cadets and motivate them to take up career in armed forces

Scope of Activity:-
Mithibai College is having 1 MAHARASHTRA ARMED SQUDRAN (1 MAH. ARMD. SQN.) NCC Unit, Army (Boys and Girls)Wing, Mumbai “B” Group, Maharashtra Directorate.
Total strength of cadets is 1st + 2nd + 3rd Year = 60(SD+SW)
Nature Of Course And Duration
Once in a week on Sundays 5 to 6 hours from June/July to January/February every year for three years.
After completing 2 years of training “B” Certificate exam.
After completing 3 years of training “C” Certificate exam.
Selection criteria to Enrol in NCC
- Age :- between 16 to 23 years
- Qualification :- 1st year of Degree/Junior College (any stream i.e. Arts, Science, Commerce, Diploma/ Degree Engineering, Medical, Law and all other unaided courses)
- Physical test :- Running(100/200/3000 metres) push ups, deeps ,crunches etc. by P.I. Staff /CO and ANO.
- Written test on general knowledge and interview by ANO/CO of Unit.
Note : Mithibai College NCC Unit is open unit hence any student from any college in Mumbai can enrol.
TRAINING UNDER NCC
- Institutional Training
Practical :– Running, Physical Training (PT), Yoga, Drill with and without arms, weapon training(.22 Rifle , SLR(Self Loading Rifle), LMG (Light Machine Gun),CMG(Carbine Machine Gun),INSAS Rifle
Theory :- Lectures by ANO/PI Staff on NCC History, Organisation functioning and all activities. ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate syllabus, Health and hygiene, leadership, personality development, career guidance and social awareness.
- External Training (Camps)-
Depending upon the vacancies allotted by Group Headquarters NCC cadets get selected to attend the following external training camps throughout the year All Over India.
ATC (Annual Training Camp), CATC (Combined Annual Training Camp) TSC (Thal Sainik Camp), AAC (Army Attachment Camp), NIC (National Integration Camp), SNIC (Special National Integration Camp), EBSB(Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat), IGC(Inter Group Competition), RDC (Republic Day Camp) etc.
Note :- In all above camp having the duration 10 to 15 days cadets get similar training as soldiers, stay, food and traveling is by Government .
- Adventure Training Activities
NCC Cadets gets opportunity to participate in Adventure Training Activities like Trekking, Hiking, River Crossing, Rock Climbing, Basic Mountaineering, Parasailing, Para-Gliding, Scuba Diving, Rappelling, Camel Safari, Cycling Expedition etc. as per the availability of vacancies by Group Headquarters.
- Social Activities :- In order to utilise the invaluable potential of these young cadets in service to Nation, NCC Cadets do the social activities like tree plantation, blood donation, traffic control, polio immunization, yoga awareness, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and take part in different awareness rallies like anti-tobacco, anti-cancer, rain water harvesting, save girl child, anti-terrorism, drug awareness etc.
- Weapon Training and firing :- NCC cadets get opportunities to handle the weapons (i.e. stripling and assembling) like .22-inch Rifle, Self Loading Rifle (SLR), INSAS Rifle, Light Machine Gun (LMG) They also get an opportunity to fire live bullets on .22 Rifle sometimes on INSAS Rifle.
Information about Different types of weapons used in Indian Armed Forces including tanks (T-56, T-72, T -90, MBT Arjun).

i) Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) : 2nd to 11th June 2025
ii) International Yoga Day : 21st June 2025
iii) Enrolment Drive, selection of new Cadets in First Year through physical, written test and personal interview : 29th June to 15th July.
iv) Fire fighting Mock Drill :- 1st in July/Auguest 2025 , 2nd in Dec2025 / January 2026
v) Independence Day Function :- 15th August 2025
vi) Weapon Exhibition :- Sept/Oct. 2025
vii) Republic Day Function :- 26th January 2026
viii) Maharashtra Day Function :- 1st May 2026
ix) Throughout the year different social activities are conducted as per the instructions from Group Head Quarters Mumbai “B” listed above.
x) Selection of Cadets and documentation for different camps throughout the year listed above as per the requirement of Camp and vacancies allotted to our college unit.
