Mithibai College, as it is popularly referred to, offers courses that encourage students to learn while simultaneously preparing them to face real life challenges. Aligning with the college motto of “Higher still and Higher”, the college strives to provide an intellectual environment that encourages lateral thinking, promotes holistic development & creates lifelong learners who will be sterling global citizens.

University of Mumbai proclaimed the college as the Best College in 2016-17. The efforts of the college have gained accolade as being Top Ranker in Arts and Science Faculty and Second Ranker in Commerce Faculty in Mumbai by India Today in 2022. The college was also awarded All India Fourth Rank amongst autonomous colleges by EduWorld 2022.

The grant of academic autonomy in 2018, paved the way for a major overhauling of the syllabi and their transaction. All the syllabi have been revised aligning to international benchmarks ensuring that they are not only locally and globally relevant but also equip learners with upgraded skills. The transaction of the upgraded syllabi is supported by state-of-the-art classrooms, infrastructure, laboratories and library facilities. The library is well equipped with a diverse collection of books and periodicals. It also has an e-learning hub enabling all sections of students to gain access to online resources. This knowledge hub has the best of its type faculty that provides universal education to the learners. Critical thinking and lateral reasoning is inculcated through research projects.
