On completion of M.Sc. in Botany the learners should be able to –
PSO1: To have knowledge about the lower and higher levels of plants, its interactions in ecosystems and applications of various phytoconstituents as lifesaving drugs or nutraceuticals.
PSO2: Develop understanding in the area of Molecular Biology, Genetics and plant breeding, plant systematics, Physiology and metabolism, Mangroves and Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry.
PSO3: To be able to interpret and relate plant morphology and anatomy, identify plants and familiarize with vegetation analysis techniques.
PSO4: Develop understanding of statistical tools and their application in biological sciences.
PSO5: To train and handle the instruments/equipment’s

PSO7: To develop research-oriented skills, analytical skills and problem-solving skills requiring application of biological principles.
PSO8: Understand the impact of the plant diversity in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
PSO9: Apply ethical principles and commit to environmental ethics, responsibilities and norms of the biodiversity conservation.
