Yuwa Diwas
YUVA DIWAS was organized by University of Mumbai to celebrate Swami Vivekanand’s Birth anniversary as YOUTH DAY in Mithibai College on 11th & 12th January 2014. University of Mumbai with all its affiliated Colleges and Institute intended to formalize and strengthen this course of the empowerment of Youth with the collective efforts of the University administration, College Principals and staff members with students as part an epicenter of the entire process.
Mithibai college created a group of 90 empowered students in the college. The group was formed of self motivated student leaders associated with Nature Club, DLLE, NSS, NCC, Gnaritus, Student’s council,  Cultural, and various associations,. This group was called  “Empowered Group” of Mithibai College.
This year we had students of GKS college, Khadavli, Thane district and GG College , Vasai were with us.
The Teacher co-ordinators were Dr. Sashirekha, Mr. Shatrughna Patil, Ms. Megha Pai, Dr. Sunita Maral and Dr. Bindu Gopalakrishnan. The students of Mithibai organized various programs for the guests comprising Street play Atrocities on women, NSS skit blind superstitions, Dance, Discussion of activities conducted during the year by Nature club, DLLE, NSS, NCC, Gnaritus, Student’s council and Cultural.
Inspired by the enthusiasm shown by our students of G.G. College performed a skit on voting rights. One student of G.K.S recited a poem of his own composition. The students were then taken through the Career fair of DLLE, Workshop on Robotics by Physics and Kalamela by Biotechnology Departments which were also going on 11th Jan.

This was empowerment in the true sense to all the students.
Next  day  0n 12th Jan all the empowered students of 50 colleges met at the sports complex on University of Mumbai to witness the Annual convocation of the University and interactive sessions , there were miming artists of GG college and celebrities from Television and media who shared their experiences.
The students of Mithibai College were well appreciated by the University officials.
